The natural process of human change is sometimes uncomfortable. Above
all it is a process... a Learning Process. Practice is integral, how
else can you become skilled. Time and opportunity is the reality. Simply,
it takes some time; time for the opportunities to practice. Therefore we
use multiple methods to "push" and motivate us through uncomfortable
times and maintain patience. To learn to have Patience even with our Impatience. Betty writes So you dont think you have enough patience? Well perhaps you dont have as much as you would like to have (yet), but you can learn how to develop patience. We have things in our lives that mean a great deal to us, places we wish to attain and we will persist at doing whatever we feel will get us to these goals. Along the way we develop patience. Freedom from addictive behaviors is perhaps an innate goal. Humans do not seek to be imprisoned, limited and unhappy. Sometimes it is the huge seeming "obstacles" that can be the greatest contributors to our developing patience. An "obstacle" can become an "opportunity" to learn patience. Once you begin to achieve your goals, even in small ways, and you begin to recognize those small building blocks of success, you will be contributing to the growth of your patience. Even a glimpse at freedom is empowering enough to compel many to persist.
Believing that you CAN do it, get it, and keep it can help you make
it so. |
